DATE SLICES
Ingredients
200g plain flour
150g oats
75g sugar
150g melted margarine
250g dates
grated rind & juice 1 lemon
4 tablespoons water
Method
Mix together flour, oats & sugar.
Add melted margarine to above ingredients.
Simmer together the dates, lemon rind & water until they form a paste then allow to cool.
Put half mixture onto base of a swiss roll tin.
Spread over filling.
Top with other half.
Bake for 20/35 mins Gas Mark 4/350F/180C.
