HOT CROSS BUNS
Ingredients
250g strong plain flour
25g margarine
25g sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon mixed spices
15g fresh yeast
2 tablespoons warm water
1 egg
4 tablespoons milk
75 g mixed dried fruit
Crosses : 2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons water
Glaze : 1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon water
Method
Rub together flour, margarine, sugar, & spices.
Cream together yeast & water.
Use milk & egg to mix to a dough.
Mix dried fruit into dough.
Knead.
Shape into 6/8 rounds & leave to prove.
Bake Gas Mark 7/425F/220C for 15-30 minutes.
