RASPBERRY BUNS

Ingredients
100g self raising flour
pinch salt
50g granulated sugar
50g margarine
½ egg
1 tablespoon milk if necessary
1 tablespoon jam
Either rind of ½ lemon or 1 drop vanilla essence.

Method
Light oven Gas Mark 5/375F/190C.
Sift flour then add salt & sugar.
Rub fat into flour.
Mix with egg & flavourings.
Make into a soft dough using extra milk if necessary.
Divide into 8 portions.
Roll into balls and place on a lightly greased baking tray.
Make a well in each, fill with jam.
Glaze with egg whites and sugar.
Bake for 15 minutes.
